I'm in an advanced band (I'm in the 8th grade also), and I like this son,g, but there are things that I don't know about the music, so it makes it hard for me to learn by myself if anybody can tell me what the x beside a music note that would make my life so much easier. If anyone knows what it means, comment

Reply OwO Hello! not sure if im too late to this or not, but this is quite a difficult piece. For most wind instruments including saxophone, the x, or most commonly known as a double sharp, raises the note by a full step instead of a half. for example, if a double sharp is put in front of a F natural, it becomes a G Natural. I hope this helps, and good luck!

Reply OwO take my advice as a expierienced meusisian (trombone/guitar/piano), if u dont know how to play sax, DONT START WITH THIS!!!! play somethin short and sweet. and if u do already play sax, then.....cool, and if ur expeirienced.....then just ignore me

Reply OwO And I see! For a sax... it could mean a slap tongue, where you produce a sharp, popping sound by snapping your reeed with your tongue (according to Google uwu)
Sorry for not being very helpful... I know you'd probably be a lot more knowledgeable about it than me, who doesn't know anything about music, just googling qwp

Reply OwO Whoah!! That music looks so complicated!! :0
The X beside a music note means different things depending on what you're playing!
I saw that you play guitar... so it might just mean a muted or "dead" note, where you rest your fingers on the string without pressing it down to create a percussive sound uwu. (according to Google, idk what I'm talking about haha)
